  • Our tour begins with a leisurely stroll around the iconic Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey, where we'll admire the awe-inspiring sculpture of the Stairway to Heaven. As we wander, we'll delve into the rich history of this sacred site, renowned for its cultural significance dating back centuries. Montserrat's allure stems from its role as a spiritual retreat, housing the revered Black Madonna statue, attracting pilgrims from around the world. Its rocky cliffs have been a site of religious devotion since ancient times, and its monastery, founded in the 11th century, stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of faith and tradition in Catalonia.

  • We will start the hike by taking the funicular trail, engineered in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It conquers a maximum slope of 65.5%, elevating you 1,000 meters above sea level in just seven minutes. From the top of this we will begin the hike to the top of the mountain.

As we make our leisurely stroll downwards, we'll encounter renowned peaks such as Elefante and Cavalls Bernat, each with their own significance in the lore of Montserrat. Elefante, named for its resemblance to an elephant, symbolizes strength and resilience, while Cavalls Bernat, with its distinctive twin peaks, is steeped in myth and legend, often associated with tales of knights and dragons. These peaks serve as enduring landmarks in the landscape of Montserrat, inspiring awe and wonder in all who behold them.
